Vanilla Biscuits
Ingredients
2 cups self raising flour
1/2 cup caster sugar (can use ¾ -1 cup sugar if wanting them sweeter for a special occasion)
120g butter
¼ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Method
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius
2. Sift flour into bowl (don’t worry if you can’t)
3. Soften butter and then rub butter into the flour with your fingers
4. Stir in milk and vanilla essence
5. Mix well until a dough forms – add a little extra milk if needed.
6. Roll into balls, then press slightly between your palms to flatten slightly.
7. Place onto tray lined with baking paper
8. Bake for approx. 12 mins – until slightly golden
9. Remove tray from the oven and let cool.
Notes: 1. The smaller they are, the quicker the biscuits will cook
2. You can sprinkle them with 100’s and 1000’s for decoration prior to baking.
