Apple Crumble

Ingredients

Apple mixture:

8 apples – chopped into 1cm cubed pieces (leave skin on)

½ cup water

1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Topping:

1.5 cups rolled oats

½ cup wholemeal flour

1 Tablespoon ground flaxseed

½ cup brown sugar (or raw sugar)

120g butter (melted)

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius

2. Cook cubed apples in water and cinnamon over medium heat with lid on. Cook for

approximately 7 minutes, stirring regularly.

3. Once soft (but not overcooked), pour them into a square casserole dish (approx. 15cm x

15cm)

4. Mix oats, flour, brown sugar and flaxseed together in a bowl

5. Melt butter

6. Once melted, tip into oat mixture and mix well

7. Spread the oat mixture evenly over the top of the apple mixture

8. Cook at 180 degrees for 40 minutes until golden on top.

9. Serve with yoghurt or ice cream of choice!
