Sophies Tofu

Ingredients:

  • 3 Tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 Tablespoon sushi seasoning (or use rice wine vinegar and 1 teaspoon sugar)

  • 1 garlic clove

  • 1 teaspoon Miso paste (I used red)

  • 150g Firm tofu – cut into pieces approx. ½ cm thick and 2.5 cm tall.

  • 2-3 Tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil for frying.

Method:

1. Mix soy sauce, sushi seasoning, garlic and miso paste well until all mixed together (use

the back of the spoon to flatten the miso paste and mix into the sauce)

2. Add tofu pieces and let them marinade for 30 mins (can cook straight away if no time to marinade)

3. Add olive oil into pan, then add tofu, including all the sauce.

4. Cook on moderate heat, turning every few minutes until brown, but not burnt! (not it burns easily at high temperatures)

5. Serve with steamed rice and chopped cucumber/capsicum and tomato + extra soy sauce if needed.
